ABOUT JUDY
I have been a Reiki practitioner for 39 years. In 1980, I received my Reiki I Usui Method attunement and certification, from Reiki Master Ethel Lombardi, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ethel was one of the twenty-two original Masters first attuned in the United States, by Mrs. Hawayo Takada. Mrs. Takada was a student of Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, who learned Reiki from Dr. Mikao Usui himself. I also received Reiki II from Ethel and took on going classes from her for 10 years, including MariEl, which is a similar healing therapy taught and developed by Ethel. I received the Master Reiki attunement/certification in California from Reiki Master Donna Maria Hatfield and the Master Reiki IV Teaching level attunements/certification from Reiki Master Tina Fioretti. I have been teaching Reiki since 2006. Prior to learning Reiki, I worked as a massage therapist and then integrated Reiki healing into my private practice. I have also taken hospice training and volunteered doing Reiki for individuals in hospice care. I have done Reiki in hospitals, during births, in private homes and in numerous settings and situations. For 11 years, I worked in the field of special Education and received a B.A., K-12 Elementary Teaching Credential and a Special Education Teaching Credential. I taught adults, as well as children with a variety of special needs, with a concentration of teaching preschool children with autism. Other interests include: meditation, Qi Gong, Yoga, and singing in community gospel choir and preciously in the Threshold Choir (11 years), which sings at bedsides for people with serious illnesses and those in the dying process. I love teaching Reiki and feel honored to give the gift of this wonderful healing therapy to others. |
